fix the KDE 4 clock to display time in a 12-hour format

1. Open up the KDE 4 System Settings,
2. Under the Common Appearance and Behaviour select Local
3. Select the “Country/Regional & Language” icon.
4. Then, click on the “Date & Time” tab, and change the time format from “HH:MM:SS” to “pH:MM:SS AMPM”.
5. You’ll probably need to restart the desktop.
