Fix: Ctrl-S hanged vi editor

Ctrl S is the XOFF character, used for flow control on serial links that do not have hardware flow control. It doesn't freeze the output...

Receipt of the XON character (Ctrl Q) disables the flow control, and commands output to continue.

Solution: open mail.btinternet.com 25 fail

change your port to 587

It seems like the port 25 (default) is closed by BT on their server.

test with following.

open telnet session using cmd and use following

open mail.btinternet.com 587

Enable Telnet - Windows 7


Start
Control Panel
Programs And Features
Turn Windows features on or off
Check Telnet Client
Hit OK

After that you can start Telnet via Command Prompt.
